Does anyone else take baclofen?
I’ve been given 70 mg. Of baclofen among other meds for my 20 year battle with insomnia. Honestly, the baclofen is harder for me to get off of than the valium. My original doc stated that baclofen was used to successfully help people wean from alcohol and from there, the idea was that it could be used to help with a benzo taper. Hence, since I’d been on valium for years, I was started on it. The first four years I was put on 30 mg. However, we moved after retirement and my new doc essentially allowed me to increase to 70. This has been hell getting off of. Has anyone ever used this medication before?

@historyguy I take baclofen because it’s a muscle relaxant. I have fibromyalgia and it’s supposed to help, but I’m not sure it’s helping me at all.
Thanks for your response. Yes, you’re correct, it is a muscle relaxant but also used off label for sleep. I was taking 70 mg. At night for sleep but have weaned it down to 30. Highly addictive, and for me, harder to get off of than benzos.
@historyguy interesting.
I’ve taken it for years and one day, about 2 months ago I just stopped…I’m not sure if I am affected by it because I have other physical issues…
I am assuming that your body, more than likely, processes medications like that differently from mine. I have never been addicted to any drugs. In fact, my brain doesn’t allow me to take the medications I need. It over reacts and I can’t function. Even Tylenol puts me to sleep!
