Hi. It appears you are new to MayoConnect. Its a great community and some point one of our awesome mentors will officially welcome you and make sure your question is on the best focus areas. Sadly, since you have a specific question, let me say I do not have Crohn’s disease. I do have a different autoimmune disorder, Rheumatoid Arthritis. And I have flares with that. And I just had lung cancer removed six months ago.
When you say they told you there is a growth on your intestine can you talk a bit about that? Was it found in testing of some kind? Did the docs say how they want to react to it? Like more testing or imaging?
I guarantee that someone in this incredible community has walked the path you find yourself on. They will find us. Maybe not tonight tho. So in the meantime let’s just explore what you know and how you learned it. If that suits you.
@lkleck Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect ! You are in the right support group! If I may ask, what prompted you to join Connect? Maybe tell us a little bit about yourself. Where you live, how old you are (can ship this one!) are you working or retired? In school? My English is really bad here, so just ignore it. Past my bedtime, so just ignore my punctuation, and words that got messed up or misspelled.
Hello, family member has Crones Disease. Recent re-section (x2), left hospital and returned due to dehydration. Had leakage and now has an ileostomy. Still in hospital due to uncontrolled high output. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi @aktink - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'm sorry to hear about this family member who had a resection and then had to return to the hospital due to dehydration, then leakage and an ileostomy. That's a lot.
How is this family member feeling today? What type of home management/recovery program will they be on when dismissed from the hospital?
Hi, Ct scan yesterday shows another abscess near resection. Put back on antibiotics. No MD connection when I visited last night while I was there. No home instructions as of yet that I’m aware of.

@lisalucier
I’ve had 2 CD related surgeries. Abdominal access and anal fistula. How your hospital could ave discarded you, not anticipating at least further problems eludes me. Am so sorry but fear for quality of treatment at get-go. Or was I just lucky? Be better! T
IR to preform removal of string of abscess tomorrow. Labs went up a little as well as appetite. Body seems fragile, so thin in my opinion. But skin coloring is very improved. Output is still high and sometimes low. Hopeful this evens out soon. I’ve lost count on days in hospital. 🙁
@pb50 I have crohns and just joined

2 ReactionsThank you- waiting for procedure to be scheduled for today. I wish we were in a Mayo Clinic. 😔
Welll it’s not an abscess, it’s a string of small abscess. Treating with antibiotics for now. 😔

1 ReactionFrustrated, but in high hopes the abscess string resolves with antibiotics. Not looking good from what I’ve read on line so far. Yikes!
