Does any of you take MCT oil for epilepsy treatment?
I have been taking MCT oil already for six months, as recommended by the neurologist of my mother who treats her Alzheimer's. The doctor said that it helps our body to make keto and it has an anti-inflammatory action on the brain.
There is a colleague from another epilepsy group I am a member, who also takes this oil, being prescribed by her epileptologist.
My seizures have indeed reduced this year by 40% this first semester compared to the first semester of 2023. Together with this oil I have also been on an anti-inflammatory diet and doing lots of exercising. So, I can not say if those benefits come from the MCT oil, from the diet I am on, from exercising, or all together. This is the danger of doing many things at the same time.
Does anybody here in our group take MCT oil? And if yes, how much per day?
Thank you!
Chris
