Do you need to sanitize the new nebulizer cup before using it?

What is your practice on this? Do you have to sanitize it before using it?

Thanks!

I do but ask myself the same question.

@ling Sometimes I believe we overthink things. When you are in the hospital or clinic and they give you a breathing treatment, do they sanitize the nebulizer before you use it?
Not where have been! So, if it is good enough for hospital infection protocols, it's good enough for me. If the package comes sealed, I don't disinfect first unless the directions tell me to - for example, mesh nebs often say to clean before using.

Thank you Sue. That is logical.

I always do for safe measure. Such a small step to take for more peace of mind.

I do understand taking that step in general if you consider we don't know the full production
process and who may have touched it before packaging it ???
I haven't done the disinfect with the new neb cup, so far, but I may consider it with this consciousness raising and after thoughts.
Overall we hope hospitals would do what they need to do if needed but nothing is so perfect, especially in 2025 etc. Hopefully we can, are able to, do all that we feel is best for ourselves considering so many other factors in life and time to do it all.
