Do you cough a lot

Posted by snoots @snoots, Feb 11 6:11am

Hey everyone, I m just curious I’m not coughing a lot of mucus anymore, sometime if I use my c-pep I can cough but it’s like I have to make myself. Is this normal. I mean don’t you cough a lot. My dr says my lungs sound clear and you don’t cough everyday when you have to cough you will. Who else is like this?
Thanks

@janetexmsrrose I don’t cough a lot but like you some time it’s morning, mid day night, or not all. My dr says we may not cough everyday. Thanks for replying. Can I ask what inhalers you are on?

I cough every day, it is sticky mucus that rarely comes up. It usually goes away somewhat after I drink my morning coffee. I don't worry about it, I just live with it, at 88, it is just as irritating as peeing 6-8 times a night. But that is the only problem I have, so I consider myself lucky.

@janetexmsrrose do you feel any effect from this drug? I don't feel any difference in my breathing

It’s supposed to be medicine to keep your lungs from getting worse. If yo are really having trouble catching your breath you are supposed to use your rescue inhaler Albuterol to open up your airways

Hi Snoots, I wondered about lack of coughing also. Even after coughing up appointments with pulmonologist equipment- they could not get ANY SPUTUM on 3 different visits. It is like it is stuck in there & only breaks up with zithromycin again with little exudate to examine.

I do cough, but not a lot.i used to be able to bring up a good hunk of mucus , but don’t seem to behaving much to spit out noe, don’t know way the change.
I also am told my longs are clear.
My major problem is breathing, indeed, I do suffer from shortness of breath and I have two inhalers that don’t seem to help much.
It is what it is and I’m beyond worrying about it because worrying is like a rocking chair keeps you busy but gets you nowhere! And to quote Forest Gump (one of my favorite movies), “and that’s all I have to say about that”.
