Divided dose or all at once?

When I started 40 mg Pred I had to split the dose into two 12 hour 20 mg doses or it wore off and the pain would come back. Now I’m on 20 mg (2-10 mg doses) and wonder if I should take it all at once. What do you other users do?

@fredinwoking Since you have pain on one shoulder only you might have osteoarthritis and it is being aggravated by the PMR. I noticed my OA cropping up as I taper down on the prednisone. Think about seeing a shoulder orthopedic doc just to eliminate OA if nothing else.

Yes. When I went for first rheumatologist appt 1.5 yrs ago I had only left shoulder hurt (along w/the other PMR pains) X-ray done on shoulder & it was arthritis. I’d never up till then had pain there. Now I’m feeling pain after all this time in my right shoulder. These pains don't prevent me from doing my stuff but it is noted. Maybe now arthritis has popped up in my other shoulder! I’m 73 so I guess these things are to be expected. 🤷‍♀️
