Direct correlation for HRT and hair shed - any others?

Hi all,
I am on HRT (dotti patch (.025) and progesterone pill(100mg) and have experienced a lot of hair shed. So much so, that I am now worried. It has been 4 1/2 months and the hair shed started about a week into starting HRT. I am on HRT for osteoporosis. I am also having some rage (which was something I encountered in peri-menopause).

I am wondering if others on this forum are experiencing this and what they have done for both. And if the shedding and/or rage they are experiencing has subsided with time or if HRT doseage has been adjusted or switched to another brand.

I will say, I have tried other meds (forteo and fosamax) with negative reactions, which is why I am trying HRT. I have a very sensitive reaction to any medication.

Thanks for any feedback on this!

Hello, I have been on HRT for 10+ years and I have my hormone levels checked by blood tests. My hormone levels with HRT have always been "below postmenopausal standards"....which verifies I am not getting too much hormones. I also have mammograms and pelvic ultrasounds (thickening of uterus and fibroids) as preventive health measures since I take HRT. I also have bone density tests. In 2023 the physicians convinced me to drop two hormones and change the dosage of estrogen. Oh my god, a couple of months in...my hair started falling out and my hairline receded. I went back to my HRT I had used for 10+years, after several months my hair is no longer coming out with a brush full each time I brush. I think I might be having new growth. I take all three hormones, progesterone, estrogen (2 types esterified and conjugated) and testosterone. I am 75 years old.
I have researched on PubMed and read many scientific evidenced based reports regarding all three sex hormones. I do not advocate HRT for every woman. I do not advocate any particular combination of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone for HRT. I researched on Pub Med, tried different approaches, used the numerical values of blood tests and not subjective thought and this is what I think is best for me. Prayers for your medical team and you.
