Diagnosed with Deep Vein Thrombosis of arm.
What type of specialist should follow my DVT? Saw 2 ER docs who diagnosed after ultrasound. Originated in IV site after surgery. Am terrified. One of the docs told me that if the big clots break off I will die. Was started on Eliquis and told to contact my Primary. Was a healthy 74 female and now also have Post Operative Urinary Retention 4 weeks post surgery.

I developed a clot in my arm at an IV insertion site following hospital admission for a collapsed lung. They removed the IV needle and did an ultrasound, I guess to make sure it was stationary. No other therapy was done and the clot cleared in a couple days. However, it did cause some minor nerve damage and I have continued numbness in my middle and index fingers. Nothing too bad, but it is intermittently noticeable.
