Depression and insomnia treatment
Good morning,
I suffer from depression and insomnia.
A psychiatrist prescribed me Oxcarbazepine(Oxcarbamazepine), Quetiapine, Aripiprazole (Abilify), Alprazolam, Lormetazepam, Tavor and Minias to use simultaneously every day.
I wanted a generic answer: can the drugs in question be used together every day or could there be any harm?
I would appreciate it if I were not told to refer to my psychiatrist as I would like a scientific answer regarding the plausibility of the combination and whether there is any risk in a generic non-specific case.
Best regards

iceborg,
You might try entering all of your drugs on the site below and see if any drug interactions come up. Also, maybe you should discuss this with your primary care doctor and see what he/she thinks?

Try speaking to a pharmacist. Also there are psychopharmacologists who check this out. Good luck
Is sleeping all day and staying up at night a common thing in depression?

2 ReactionsBased on what I have experienced and observed, yes, it is common.
Some people become like emotional vampires, unable to face the sunlight.
That being said, I think a great many people, myself included, have undergone periods of disturbed sleep rhythms, especially when under great stress. Not from depression, simply being overwhelmed.
How long have you been like this? Anything especially intense going on in your life?
And to be clear, I am not a professional psychotherapist. This is my personal opinion. Clinical depression is a serious condition and needs professional attention.
Something you might want to try if you're feeling depressed, an episode of my YouTube channel, "From Recovery to Discovery":

3 ReactionsYes it is very common. There are some medications that can help - but your doctor will decide what may work best for you.

1 ReactionVery common and something I deal with as well. My wife's job has us up at 4:00 am which makes those nights a real challenge. I have tried some sleep remedies to get myself to sleep on those difficult nights. Definitely talk to a doctor before doing any of those however. It really sounds like you are dealing with depression though Scott be right about it being major stress or being overwhelmed. There are a lot of suggestions we can probably offer but the best one is to talk to your primary care doctor and see what they say.
