Degenerative discs irritating nerves, causing foot numbness
Has anyone had a problem with degenerative discs chemically irritating
nerves, causing foot numbness? No nerve compression, as far as we know.
What did you do for it?

@soby, I have idiopathic small fiber neuropathy but only have the numbness and some tingling in my legs and feet. I also have degenerative disc disease and have thought that my spine may play a part in my neuropathy symptoms. I haven't found much that helps with the numbness in my feet but always looking for what may help. For now I just make sure that I keep the skin on my feet and legs moisturized daily since the nerves are near the skin and it seems to calm my feet some at night when I put lotion on my feet and also put some loose stretchy socks over the feet after applying the lotion. I mostly use a magnesium lotion but think any moisturizer is better than nothing.
I did find a research paper that I think may describe what may be happening but it doesn't seem like there has been much study on the question.

I did a search of Connect using - radiculopathy +"no compressed nerves" that found quite a few comments from members if you want to scan through them while you wait for other members to respond - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/.
