Degenerative Disc Disease in neck then vertigo

Posted by cookiepic @cookiepic, Sep 5, 2023

I have suffered for years with degenerative disc disease of my neck. This pass week after returning from vacation my neck started really aching and then l got a vertigo attack. Since then I've felt off. I went to pc doctor and she feels it's my ear which l do have a little problem with. I feel it's from my neck. Reading about cervical vertigo. I've gotten since the initial vertigo one or two more. I was doing good until l was on my cell phone yesterday with a friend. While talking to her l got a short vertigo. I has mri on brain a year and a half ago but doctor is sending me for brain and neck tomorrow. Has anyone has these issues with have ddd and vertigo. Glad today medicine is done. Prednisone does wonders for your state of mind and other things. Thanks in advance.

Yes sounds familiar. I get vertigo just by bending my head back. But also sometimes have BPPV (ear crystals dislodged), fluid in ear, and sometimes "vestibular migraine" which comes from the brain. I have stopped trying to figure it out!

So you have nausea and vomiting with your vertigo?

I had nausea and vomiting the first day but since then my stomach is fine other then the meds messing things up. It's the balance issue that is most annoying. Afraid to even shower.
