Decreased vision after macular peel surgery

After macular peel surgery my vision in that eye went from -7.5 prescription to -14.5 in 6 months and getting worse. I do not have fogging yet in advance of cataract surgery. Is something worse going on? Will lense in cataract surgery help this?

I'm due to have this too, but so far have chickened out. I did read that your vision never returns to its original prescription, but nothing about it getting worse. What reason does your eye doctor give for this happening?

I went for a second opinion for having a retinal wrinkle removed. He said that first of all there is no guarantee second of all I will still be left with my wet macular degeneration. So...he would not recommend surgery for me. Now I have developed wet amd in other eye and will need to start injections monthly. UGH
