I decided to go the surgery route, if it wasn't for the high decipher score I would have chose sbrt, so they will call me within a week to sceduled, thanks everyone for you comments.

Thanks. I'm fortunate to have Dr. Amling who is head of Urology at ohsu and
has performed over 3000 surgeries, hopefully by early next year this will
be in my rear view mirror for awile.

Wishing you all the best.

If you are able try to read Dr. Patrick Walsh's book called "Guide to Surviving Prostate Cancer". I wish I would have read it sooner. Also before your surgery talk to your doctor about a few things 1) pre-habilitation for penile health. They will arrange for you to meet with a doctor that can advise you on what to do before and after surgery to preserve your penile health. 2) I would also suggest making sure you are not constipated before, and especially after your surgery. Talk to your Urologist about that well before your surgery as well. 3) Do your own research as much as you can and ask as many questions that you feel might be pertinent.

Dr. Patrick Walsh's book will help you a lot.

Hope this is helpful for you. We are all rooting for you.

@ginger38314 what caused you to go the surgery route versus radiation? I have my biopsy with Dr. Amling in a few weeks.

My high decipher score was the deciding factor if there was reoccurance
than you can always do radiation plus the fact Dr. Amling is one of the top
urologists in Oregon so I was more confident in my decision.

did you order the decipher after biopsy?

@ezupcic
Decipher is usually next along with PET after biopsy results. Decipher is routinely ordered by many as soon as biopsy results are in assuming at least a Gleason 7 is identified, same with PET. It can take a couple weeks to get the PET scheduled, that is why to get the Decipher ordered while waiting

Yes the urologist didn't recommend I just wanted it for sbrt without adt if
it came in low but unfortunately it didn't but my low volume 3+4 atleast
was favorable for the time being anyway.
