@shilo, while we wait for members to reply, I’d like to list some information from Mayo Clinic, which you might find useful.
Mayo Clinic colorectal surgeons specialize in removal (resection) of complex tumors affecting multiple organs and structures in the abdomen and pelvis. The colorectal surgery practice at Mayo Clinic has particular expertise in procedures that help avoid the need for a colostomy and that preserve the nearby nerves that are essential for normal bowel, bladder and sexual function.
I also found two recent studies about factors that determine LARS, and bowel function following anterior resection, using the low anterior resection syndrome (LARS) score:
I need to make an appointment to see a doctor at the Mayo clinic. Which doctor should I start with? So much more to my history than can write here.
Closest to the location in AZ.
@shilo, here is the contact information for Mayo Clinic at all 3 locations http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63 When you call, they will review your history and match you with the best specialists. Mayo Clinic specialists work together as a team and you will benefit from their collective knowledge and experience.
I have sent them an email 12/6/18 to get an appointment. Phone hold time was very long. Waiting for response
Hi @shilo ..I am so sorry your feeling this way. Something surely does not sound right. I had a foot of my colon removed almost 3 yrs ago now and i have not experienced anything like you are feeling.
What kind of tests were done by your local Dr"s?
Did they do any CT scans, Blood work, Ultra sounds??
You absolutely need to get into Mayo Clinic for second evaluation. Mayo Clinic will choose the Dr that will best be able to evaluate your case.
Make your you go get all your medical records so they can evaluate them prior to your appointment. That helped them out a lot with my case.
Praying you get relief very soon.
Thank you .. I hope every day to find the answers before it's too late.
Have not heard back from the Mayo Clinic for an appointment yet. Any suggestions??
