Day 3 of surgery
Not going to lie, this surgery was rough on me. Finally can get up and down and not dying in pain when getting up and down. Had severe vertigo after surgery due to being tilted during surgery. Catheter not fun, but doable. The pain in recovery was serious spasms, and didn't know if I was going to pee or poop, but I knew I wasn't going to. Hopefully cancer free!!!

Sorry to hear your surgery after effects are so aggressive. It is unusual. Most people have a pretty easy by the third day. The second day was a real pain for me, but that was because I had to be driven home for about an hour, and the car was very uncomfortable. Once I got home, all I needed was Tylenol.
I’ve had some major vertigo problems At times, but never had it after the surgery. Sure, glad of that, Getting rid of vertigo can be a real pain.
Hopefully it WAS successful and you are done.
Sorry to hear about your side effects. I myself had surgery 3 weeks ago. The only pain I had after surgery was in the shoulder form the tilting and i was really nauseous the day of the surgery.
I did experience vertigo/ dizziness after the catheter was removed on the 6th day and I went to urinate the first time normally.
As much as possible get up and walk, even if you are doing circles in your living room. Get your body used to the sitting / standing position.
Stay strong and be positive.

I have found this useful for Vertigo. Not a cure all for everyone but worth a shot. Took care of mine.

1 Reaction@chippydoo Haven't learned the barrel roll yet and surgery is imminent. Any tips?? Thanks!
Hi, I never really had much of a problem at all after surgery. Wish I could of spent an extra day in the hospital but I just stayed overnight. Did have some blisters on my shoulders due to the head down position during surgery. Felt better day by day, kept my diet bland for a few days. Slept on a couch when I had the cath in because I had less pulling and soreness being so close to the ground. I kept all my incisions dry during showers with waterproof large wound bandages. Just my humble non medical opinion but I think keeping them dry during showers speeds the healing.

I did this while I was at the PT office giving PT for my knee replacement. My vertigo wasn’t too bad at the time, but it was bothering me.
I tried this technique and immediately made me sick, Just the opposite effect that it should have caused, and I had a Physical therapist showing me how to do it, right.
Hopefully, it will work for the person here that needs it. I was expecting more.
I had one technique where I had to almost get upside down and it worked, I’m getting too old to do that one.
@jeffmarc wonder of the pt did things too fast. My neighbor, who is doing his residency in my area sent me the pictures of the process. I laid on the bed, did one for the right side and one for the left- it worked perfect (for me).
Vertigo, as I understand, has multiple causes and can be complex to treat but for my situation, this simple solution worked great.
