Daliresp for Treatment of COPD,
Could anyone please give me any feedback on being on Daliresp for COPD. I have Stage 4 with a chronic bronchitis phenotype. Was excited to see that Dupixent had been approved for COPD with eosinophilic type 2 inflammation which is unchanged from the asthma eosinophilic criteria. So don't see the advantage. I'm rather confused. Some what annoyed as I was on Daliresp 500 mg, then the Pulmo added Dupixent....my secretions have improved but don't know which medication is responsible. That is why I am a firm believer in only starting on one medication at a time so that if by chance there are issues you can identify the medication that might be responsible. Thank you for any and all feedback!

Well, you can ask your doc about stopping one or the other of your 2 meds to get a clearer idea of which med may be helping and which may not be.
I generally try to only change one med at a time but in Nov, I started both Trelegy & Dupixent. I’m doing better than last year and don’t honestly know how much to attribute to each medication. At this point, I’m just happy to be more stable and have fewer exacerbations so I’m sticking with the new combo.
Gm kdalda. I take 500 mcg daily of the generic Daliresp- Roflumilast and Trelegy. Per my pulmo Roflumilast helps prevent exacerbations. And since being on it not one exacerbations for over a year. I don’t qualify for the Dupixent so don’t know if that helps. I’d ask your pulmo about any clinical trials for the chronic bronchitis phenotype. My amazing pulmo suggested RheOx thermal trial for the bronchitis. I went to Temple Lung in Philly and after. 1.5 years of the trial the team let me know I got the actual treatment and so far by Gods grace I’m bronchitis free! My doc says my lungs sound great even better than those she’s implanted Zephyr valves in. God bless & good luck.
I had attempted to enter the clinical trial mainly becaause it was being done at the medical center where I live but was told that I was not a candidate as I had Zephyr valve placement...very disappointed. However I do believe that Gala Therapeuitcs has received FDA approval but I cant seem to locate where. Would love to go to Temple...I have read so many research papers from there and I believe the infamous Dr. Criner practices there.
Thank you for sharing. Out of curiosity and only if you wish.......why do you not qualify for Dupixent?
Since Trelegy/Dupixent are completely different classification of drugs and work differently in your system, probably both are contributing to you feel better and more stable with your lung status. That was my plan, dropping the one that has documentation and clinical data re the worse side effects. See the Pulmo Tuesday and that's not even soon enough! I'm sure we can come up with a plan! Keep feeling well!
Yes, Dr Criner & his team are at Temple. They’ve done a lot of work with valve implants.
I agree that trelegy abc Dupixent work differently but together they’ve helped my reduce exacerbations and I’m very happy about that.
That is wonderful! Wish I lived that close but then again I guess that's why we have airplanes. Do you know whether they have been doing anything with the RheOx approval? Just curious!
