Has anyone tapered off Cymbalta without having serious side effects?

I tapered off incredibly slowly, probably over the course of six months. Toward the end, I was just taking a bit of a crumb a day for a month before stopping. I took it really, really slow, and didn't have problems. I tried taperinf off another antidepressant quickly once before and learned my lesson....

I really don't believe that there's any antidepressants that are easy to get rid of, they're a very powerful drug and change our brain chemistry a lot but when you stop taking them you realize how strong they really are.

Thanks for the heads up and as result to find other alternatives. Getting off any drug is no fun.

@lylii My psychiatrist told me that Effexor was the most difficult antidepressent to get off of, and she actually has patients who cannot do it.

That's for sure, it's scary sometimes that I'm taking a drug I know is powerful and changes me mentally and on top of that I feel like I'm going to freak out sitting in my bed through the night with body pain and my favorite, the dreaded brain zaps, I had this other times but wasn't sure what it was. I really appreciate that sometimes we need help even from drugs but what gets me is the struggle to find it, not everyone is able to cope with horrible side effects, It's highly dependent on your age, health and your financial situation because medicine costs money too.
