Cymbalta side effect z - sleepiness

Posted by twindeer @twindeer, Sep 26, 2023

I am currently on 10 mg of Cymbalta and not feeling any different except for more sleepy all day. If my dosages goes to 20 mg will I be more sleepy? Taking for anxiety and fibromyalgia

Your body will get use to it and stop being sleepy. It's really hard to get off Cymbalta if you ever plan in doing that. I would stick to 10mg personally. I was on 60 mgs and have decreased to 20 mg but wanting to go off of it completely. I've had Fibro for 25 years and went off pain pills too.

My doc changed my Cymbalta (duluxetine) to 40 mg before bed along with 200 Mg of Gabapentin for hip and leg pain. I am feeling so lethargic and can’t seem to get anything accomplished. Just sitting around isn’t what I was hoping for. Has anyone else felt this way after starting this drug and will my omph come back? Not a good way to live with spouse and active grandchildren who I love to watch play their sports

Glad to learn there is hope to end of Fibromyalgia sometime in my future. Thank you for responding. I don’t like living in this fog I’ve been in for the past 4 weeks. My family doesn’t like it either as I’ve always been very active.

Wow...that is my goal honestly...to get off all the pills. Sometimes I wonder if I do have fibromyalgia. I never took a pain pill until I was 50 and cysts and fibroids on my uterus caused painful periods and severe pain all over my body. My doctor put me on tramadol and gabapentin and that helped my pain up to when I had a full hysterectomy 3 years ago. I thought my all over pain would be gone after I healed from my surgery but all that changed was no more periods. My all over body pain got worse and my concentration and foggy brain got worse. When I went to my doctor about it, he did a pressure test on me and asked me questions then diagnosed me as having fibro. I honestly was one of those people that rolled her eyes when she heard someone mention they had fibro. But now , at age 55 I wonder is it really that or is my body just so dependent on my pain medications? I am scared to taper off because taking even one less pill a day is causes unbearable pain. So can you give me some advice on how you did it?

I was diaognosed with Fibromyalgia, over 30 years ago. Tried all different medications, and finally was put on Cymbalta, actually the generic. Anyway, it does help. You really need to up the dosage though. I started at 20 and now on 30mg. I take it at night before I go to sleep. Monitered by my Rhemotoligist. You will get used to it. The sleepyness will go away.
