cymbalta for pain
I was prescribed cymbalta to help with overall body pain. After a week i was walking my dog and realized my pain was way down to almost to a livable pain. But the sweating was non stop. Especially at night i soaked my pillow and bed. My Dr had me stop cymbalta and my pain came roaring back. Anyone that can help me with this please let me know

I was just prescribed 30 mg (daily) duloxetine for neuropathy pain, anxiety, and depression and 50 mg Trazodone for insomnia. I really want this combination to work, but am concerned about side effects. What has been your experience taking duloxetine at the lowest effective dose (e.g. 30 mg daily or 30 mg every other day)? Also did you experience bothersome side effects at this dose? Thanks in advance for replying.
Trazadone can hang around in the body long enough so you may feel "tired" the next morning (I've been on it yrs ago and I'm a RPh). You may not feel this it depends on body wt+ body fat.You usually overcome this after several days of Rx. Watch stomach side effects on other,, AND IF IT DOESN'T WORK FOR PAIN COMPLAIN ,YES COMPLAIN TO YOUR DR TO COVER IT BETTER ! Tx Rick
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO USE LOW DOSE OPOIDS. THEY DON'T TURN YOU INTO A HAIRY DOPE FIEND. They block the pain ! I had to go on them for PSA and I'm a former Pharmacy DIRECTOR at NIDA National Institute of DRUG Abuse. If you have no history of Chemical Abuse in your family Hx than you should be fine. Tx Rick
I had no negative side effects of taking 30mg duloxetine daily, except perhaps a negative effect on libido. Otherwise it was very effective. The negative effects of it for me were when I tried to come off this drug. That was terrifying. As I’ve said, I was on it for years before that. I strongly advise getting off it as soon as your doctor recommends you do so.
derfly, what opioid med are you referring to? I don't believe Duloxetine is an opiod... Tramadol worked pretty good for my post hip surgery pain.
aus12, you've taken it 6 months with no relief?? I'm wondering why you haven't gone back to your doctor and told them it's not working and demand something else! I went thru this....for anxiety and sleep issues. If a med the doctor prescribed didn't work or gave me side effects I couldn't put up with, I was back at the doctors office, asking to try something else! You don't give up until you get the right medication for your issues! Good luck! ❤️
celia16, why aren't you taking a B-12 supplement?
Lara K, just wanted to suggest to you the medication Amitriptyline....it helps depression, anxiety, sleep issues and some pain issues. I did not know ibuprofen was good for depression and anxiety.
I do take a B12 supplement. Thank you for asking. Maybe that wasn’t clear in my previous post.
Since June, I’ve had more improvement. I’ve been on the B12 supplement for a while and I no longer have burning like I did in June. I’m very grateful for that and that the paresthesia in my feet is mostly gone. Hopefully it will completely resolve. So, I no longer need Gabapentin. I do still get occasional awakening in the night to my hands feeling asleep. Taking that up with my neurologist at the next visit. Constipation improved too.
Thank you. I have thought about non-SSRI meds. There is a new one - Auvelity? - that my psychiatrist wants to try.
Ibuprofen is only good for depression and anxiety in the sense that not being in pain constantly is a good thing.
