Cymbalta causing constipation?

Posted by skim3737 @skim3737, Oct 4 11:35pm

I was recently prescribed low dose Cymbalta (20mg at bedtime) to deal with generalized anxiety disorder and I've been on 20mg Celexa since 2007. I have digestive problems from radiation damage to pelvis and abdomen (which was done in 1998) and I also have SIBO. Since I started on the Cymbalta about 3 weeks ago I believe I've noticed more constipation. Has anyone else also experienced this with Cymbalta and is it something that might get better as I'm on the medication longer? TIA.

I have not had any trouble with constipation from Cymbalta. It took a couple of weeks for my system to adjust (nausea) but have been fine ever since.

Thank you for your reply. It's very helpful to hear from others and TBH, I was concerned that I might have nausea with it but didn't. Further proof that we all react differently to medications. Must be more my digestive issues than the Cymbalta causing my constipation. Appreciate you!
