I was recently diagnosed with CVS after finding Barrett's Espophagus. I believe I have had this for the past two plus years.
Am already on recommended meds - Pregabalin, Baclofen, Imitrex, Sucralfate, Amitriptyline, and Omeprazole - for Fibromyalgia. Just got PCP to give Hydroxyzine.
Anyone dealing with CVS have other ideas for me to try?
Did they rule out abdominal migraines as that causes very similar features. My nephew had it when he was younger and he didn't think he had migraine symptoms because they were so subtle. It's more common in children but it effects adults as well. Try using google scholar after you search for some medical topic to find peer reviewed medical papers. Here's a title of one of them and you could search just using the title (I'd link it but not sure of the rules here). "Guidelines on management of cyclic vomiting syndrome in adults by the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society and the Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association". Did you even know there an association just for that? I didn't.
This is fairly technical but most people can gain information from them. My daughter has had CVS too but we're pretty sure hers was caused by pot.
After two plus years of GI issues (nausea, vomiting, weight loss of 40 # in 4 months), I was diagnosed with CVS.
All of the recommended meds I am on for Fibromyalgia - Amitriptyline, Baclofen, Imitrex, Omeprazole, Pregabalin, and Sucralfate - and wondering if there are more options. Diet, lifestyle, and exercise of course. Is there something I am missing?
I know everyone is different, but there has to be a working solution for most.

1 ReactionMy doctor told me that too. But when a new doctor did a scan of my gallbladder it was so bad he had to do surgery. Been fine ever since.

1 ReactionThank you for the reply, but my gallbladder has been gone since 1999. Had pancreatitis and that was part of the solution.
