Cramps 7 months after laparoscopic hysterectomy vaginal assistance

Posted by maria97 @maria97, Feb 21 7:19pm

Hi I had laparoscopic hysterectomy with vaginal assistance 7 months ago. Still I have my ovaries. Since 10 days ago Iam cramping cramping that goes to my legs similar to the cramps during period time . Anyone else had this experience before ? Is it normal ?

@maria97 May I ask the reason for the hysterectomy and why your ovaries were left intact?

Cramps that feel like menstrual cramps that extend to your legs do not sound good to me. When I had a hysterectomy that included my ovaries I did not have any pain afterwards except for right after the surgery.

Have you seen or talked with the surgeon who performed the hysterectomy? Your gynecologist or your family doctor? This is something that needs to brought to the attention of your doctor. When do you think you will call your doctor?

Last 2 years I had so much bleeding because of the fibroids and polyps. They removed polyps with D&C but fibroids was not inside . Finally my doctor told me hysterectomy gonna be the best decision. My ferritin dropped to 6 . Just let you know my ovaries also make cyst so often before . I have an appointment with my surgeon next month .

@maria97 Mayo Clinic Connect is a place for support. We are not medical professionals at Mayo Clinic Connect so we cannot diagnose or give you medical advice. I think that a month is too long to wait since you are experiencing cramps. Can you call your surgeon’s office and let them know you are in pain and you want an appointment?

It could be possible that when ovulating, the egg doesn’t have a place to go, but lands inside the abdominal cavity and causes pain, just like it can happen to any one and is then called “ mittelschmerz.

She is in maternity leave right now and I prefer to be seen by her . Although I already message them in the case of emergency and they told if I get nauseous or there is any fever then I have to be seen as an emergency case. I am with Kaiser.
