Has anyone developed very small skin blisters or peeling palms from COVID?

@hopeful1953, I believe @sonyamagee1964 mentioned a while back that her husband experienced blisters post Covid. Other members have talked about experiencing dermatographia, a condition also known as skin writing. When people who have dermatographia lightly scratch their skin, the scratches redden into a raised wheal similar to hives. Dermatographia can be caused by infection in some cases.

It sounds like your situation is different. Did this just start recently? What are you doing to relieve the blisters? Are they painful?

@hopeful1953, I saw this article on the Mayo Clinic News Network that mentions the symptoms you asked about.

"Younger people with less severe COVID-19 might develop painful, itchy lesions on their hands and feet that resemble chilblains, an inflammatory skin condition. Sometimes called COVID toes, this symptom typically lasts about 12 days."

Just wanted you to know I’ve been dealing with post covid since last October. It was severe at time. I even had a CRP blood test that spiked to 96! Several MD360 visits, 1 ER visit and slowly getting better . Used an out of network dr who used repurposed drugs that really helped. I had a breakthrough last week with brain fog. I decided to take 10mg of my older adderall I had for add/adhd and it completely cleared up my brain fog. I’ve been taking it now for a week with excellent results. I’d encourage you to ask your healthcare provider if this is something you could try. My hearts in really good shape now so no concerns there. I hope this will help someone out there who’s suffering like I have been. Good luck and don’t give u

Tested positive for COVID and 4 days after start of antiviral prescription developed (ghost itch) not visible no hives or red areas.
Lung congestion developed and 5 day course of Steroid prescribed.
Skin area between thumb and index finger developed dry pinhead size blisters, producing peeling skin. Appearance of dried shriveled skin.
No pain but extremely dry. Presenting only on thumb area and fingers. I will be interested if others have developed this skin condition.
I am applying SARNA moisturizer.

Skin on hand continues to wrinkle, pinpoint size blisters develop then open to cause peeling shin. No pain. I noticed this a few days ago.
COVID diagnosed 21 days ago. My dermatologist daughter told me the same condition developed on my granddaughter’s feet and hers as well.
I will continue to apply SARNA lotion and will report if this skin condition spreads beyond my hands.

I had covid in January, hospitalized fir 3 weeks. I’m a long hauler. I noticed several months ago, my right palm is very scaly and peels very often, i’m not sure why the right hand but its my dominant hand, up until a few weeks ago, my skin everywhere has been very dry and scaly. And I had a sore like cold sire on my lip from the oxygen mask when I came out of the hospital and my lip still gets little white bumps like blemishes whenever I wear my bpap mask at night with oxygen.
I have to say since I have gone in prednisone they both are getting better, so I’m unsure if its covid related or prednisone related since I have been on prednisone since January.

@colleenyoung. The blisters and dry skin on my fingers and palms have begun to clear. This was a symptom of the COVID virus. There wasn’t any pain. I believe a light application of steroid cream was vital to the heal.
I hope people recognize this virus and talk to their doctor as soon as they even “think” that they have contracted COVID. This skin condition can be caused by COVID.
I am glad I was able to share my symptoms.

I have a quick question. Did your physicians recognize your the possible cause of skin your condition? I am right handed.
The onset of the skin blisters first appeared on the web area between the thumb and index finger. When I realize there was a skin irritation I thought it might be from the car’s steering wheel or disinfecting my hands.

@colleenyoung My COVID skin blisters and dry skin that I had reported are healing. I was prescribed Triamcinolone Acetone 0.1. This skin condition developed a few weeks after my positive COVID test.
A cough developed a few days prior to my positive test. My coughed stopped after being prescribed a steroid. It has returned.
Has anyone had their cough redevelop?

@hopeful1953, that's great news that the skin issues are improving. Have things with the cough gotten any better?
