COVID infection is terrible
I got the second COVID infection last week, two years ago I had my first one. I've got six vaccines against C-19. That's not any "ordinary flu" for me. The asthma get worse, I'm so tired, sick, like pneumonia, but it's not so bad, yet. This is 9th day, no fever, no need to antibiotics (yesterday I saw the doctor). But still can't do anything, even sleep. I can't smell or taste anything, so my eating is poor. Next Monday I've to back to work. Let's see how the teaching will manage. Today I'm still laying on the sofa and watching the Olympics. It's so boring. F**" the C-19. I can't hate it more. Hope someone make vaccines to prevent the infection. My body need more protection to viruses. The second COVID is harder than first, but I don't know now, what will happen next. Last time I lost my short memory, ability to write by hand and cramps to legs. Now my fingers hurts so much, that I can't do anything with them for a while. Yes, neurologist problems, but nobody is interested in this. Be care, get well! Have a nice autumn, it's coming soon here in Finland.

When I got second shingles shot, my platelet count plummeted, was of concern to Hemo, but then recovered. I've been on HU for 3 1/2 years for ET Jak2. My Dr tested me for chicken pox antibodies, and then recommended the shingles shot. My grandmother got shingles on her face and lost vision in one eye. I have enough trouble with my eyes don't need any additional problems
Hello @jackiecarey. I'd like to remind members of the community guidelines, https://connect.mayoclinic.org/blog/about-connect/tab/community-guidelines/. I edited some of your comment to remove some of your post that could be interpreted as political.
Healthcare decisions come down to each one of us. We are not obligated to follow our provider's suggestions. Each of us has to do what we feel is best for us. Not taking vaccines is certainly within those personal decisions that each one of us has to make. It is important to consider suggestions from our providers when making each decision. As @gloaming points out, there are different viruses that may have been confused.
In the end, we are all navigating difficult medical journeys of one kind or another, but we must remain respectful of each member's experiences while also taking into consideration a medical providers input.
You are having such a terrible time! I can almost feel your pain.
Covid is the worst thing that has happened to this world beside war.
So many sick people, so many gone. What can we do? The scientists are doing their best and I praise them and their intelligence, answers do not come easy.
The effects of this terrible virus are leaving many people sick and worried,
God bless you all! We in Canada suffer like those all over the world.

I've also had 6 shots and covid twice. The first time my doctor got me paxlovid by day 2 and I took it right away, day 3 was worse sore throat I ever had, but all over in less that a week. Second time, I just felt terrible, and tested positive by day 3, but didn't get paxlovid until day 6, so it was too late. It took 2 weeks to get over it the second time, but symptoms were mild, no fever, a little achy, just felt under weather. Maybe the shots helped keep it milder the second time, who knows.
