Cov19 at retirement party: Are you avoiding social gatherings?

Posted by Funcountess @funcountess, May 12, 2020

No parties for me. Was invited to a retirement party. Told the hostess it was no time for a party. I did not go, good thing because one of the guests was not showing signs of cov19, but did infect 3 other people at the party.
Now the person who retired is in the hospital with the virus, as well as the other 2.
Too dangerous for social gatherings, anyone out there with social gatherings in the future I suggest they rethink their plans.
Stay well,

Minnesota is lifting the order on Monday, and opening some businesses, but still recommending at risk people stay isolated. Groups of more than 10 will still be prohibited, and bars, restaurants, salons, gyms are closed until at least June 1st. Our cases are still rising though, so I expect to see some restrictions continue going forward, and if there is too much surge, some limits reimposed. The governor's rationale is that the state now has the tools to deal with an uptick, and with limits on some activities it should be manageable. I realize that is not the case everywhere, so every state must do their own projections.
Looking at the dire economic impact the closures are having, and the restlessness of the population, I believe that our leaders are truly caught between a rock and a hard place. I just hope sanity prevails and large group gatherings like fairs, concerts, amusement parks, etc stay on the "No" list until the rate of infection slows a lot more.
I for one will remain in isolation for the foreseeable future, but that doesn't mean the same must apply to my neighbors who have lost jobs. And I remain hopeful that the push for effective treatments and a vaccine will not wane as the public attention turns to the next "thing" so eventually I cam resume my life.

I certainly will be, but may have to keep my son and his girlfriend from coming upstairs in the house as things open up....😔.....I think I can get my husband to keep up some semblance of safety for us.
