Could Tarlov cyst be causing severe lower back pain?
I was diagnosed with a Tarlov cyst at S1 One 10 years ago. It has never caused any problems before. On the MRI, it showed erosion of the bone and compression of nerve roots. About a month ago, I started having severe lower left back pain. I have been prescribed steroids, antibiotics and muscle relaxers and nothing has helped. I asked my physician if the Tarlov cyst could be related to the pain and was told no, they are asymptomatic. I’m at my wits end, don’t know where to turn.

I would recommend seeing a good neurosurgeon.
