Coughing and Airway clearance

@reneemc - When this happens to me, I try doing my airway clearance "upside down" - literally. I will go into the "downward dog" pose, or alternatively, bend forward from the waist as if trying to touch my toes, and huff cough. I was out running errands today & had that issue. I stopped beside my car in a parking lot and bent over - 3 coughs and I got the gunk out.

PS By bending forward, my doctor assures me there is not danger of aspiration into the lungs.

Renee, I could not get anything any time of the day until I discovered on this portal the Aeroeclipse nebulizer!! Finally I could produce some clear stuff in the morning. I do 2 puffs of albuterol first thing in the morning, then after 15 minutes I do nebulizing 3% saline solution simultanously with aerobika (the aeroeclipse enables this), and this follows with autogenic drainage using the app. I hope it will help you too; It is still not good enough to be my sputum sample though but I clear my lungs and spit and spit after the night. I bought the aeroeclipse online- 2 sets about $20.00 I used "justnebulizer" site. They are reliable.

The perscription strength of musinex is what my husband takes.

Is it still clearing the lungs even if nothing comes up/ out?

It doesn't sound like it, alas. I was also wondering what people would say....but I'm guessing if it's NOT OUT, it's not out.

PS and I also cough a lot with nothing coming up, very tiring.
