Cosentyx

I am forced to change drug insurance January 1. I have been on Kevzara which required pre approval. With the new insurance I have to start that process over. They do cover Cosentyx as an alternative to Kevzara. Does anyone have experience with this biological? I have been off of prednisone for 1 1/2 years.

Is Cosentyx already approved for other diseases (for lack of a better word) and if so what?
If Cosentyx is already being sold in the USA, how does it compare in cash price to Kevzara?
Anybody?

A quick search found this:
Cosentyx (secukinumab) is a biologic. It treats inflammatory conditions like plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It blocks interleukin-17A (IL-17A), a protein that drives inflammation. It is given as an injection under the skin or via IV infusion once every week for 5 weeks (5 initial injections) then once every 4 weeks for maintanence.

My interpretation of the trial results looks like the 150mg dose is almost exactly the same results as the 300mg dose. Almost. Very close.

Searches report that Cosentyx is priced the same as or more than Kevzara (which is more than Acetemra, by about as much.)
Insurance? Depends. It’s “off-label” as of today. But, isn’t Prednisone off-label for PMR?
(I think I read that somewhere.)

Best wishes everybody!
