Hi Tony. Unfortunately, corticobasal degeneration can't be cured, but doctors can help you manage your condition. Here is some further information about care at Mayo Clinic http://mayocl.in/2c4ISJb

Have you been diagnosed with corticobasal syndrome?

REPLY

Yes I have been diagnosed with cbd by Stanford movement clinic. Dr. V. Santini

I'm not Cindy Jo but I am a nurse and have always been interested in diseases and medicine since I was a child. I guess it's in my blood and if I can say anything that might contribute even in a small way, I like it.

Do know anything I can take?

Hi Tony, my 72 year old mother was recently told by a movement disorder doctor that she has Cortico Basal degeneration. She doesn't have all of the symptoms but a recent brain test apparently confirms his suspicions. He prescribed a medicine (syrup form) that has had success improving the symptoms of this disease and slowing progression. I'll get the name and post it.

Hi Tony, the medicine the doc prescribed to my mother for Cortico Basal degeneration is Amantadine. I read that Michael J Fox saw improvement with his Parkinson's symptoms when he took this medicine.
