Correlation between exercise and CPAP numbers

Posted by bobsnuff @bobsnuff, Nov 8, 2022

Over the last two years, I’ve noticed a definite correlation between my CPAP numbers and my bike riding. I’m curious if there are any studies or papers,or if anyone else has experienced a similar effect.
My CPAP numbers (AHI, apneas, hypopnias) are significantly lower when I’m riding regularly. I even see the effect when I take a few days off noticing a slight rise in those numbers. Looking forward to hearing from others-thanks!

Hello @bobsnuff, Welcome to Connect. I've also noticed better AHI numbers when I exercise. My exercise normally is indoor using a Teeter FreeStep recumbent cross trainer but I'm also trying to add some more outdoor walking to my daily regime when the weather permits. Here's some research on the topic:

I've been using a CPAP for a little over 4 years now. How long have you been diagnosed with sleep apnea?
