COPD and runny nose at night
I just joined and my apologies if this has already been asked and answered.
Starting early in the evening and lasting til about midnight my nose runs like a faucet and it's a clear mucus every 10 minutes.
Someone asked on a different support group for COPD, but I didn't see any replies.
Is this typical?

My 84 year-old husband, who has pulmonary fibrosis and is on oxygen, has a runny nose from the time he wakes up every morning until he goes to bed at night. Would appreciate any suggestions what to do.

1 ReactionI guess I have that problem, but not at night. My runny nose happens in the morning, and when I have a change in my environment, and upon too much exertion. I go through about 10 tissues and then it usually stops. I'm pretty sure this is your body sensing something impeding your oxygen intake and stimulating your respiratory system to clear itself, so I don't worry about it, except that it is annoying and sometimes my nose gets a little sore.

2 ReactionsI have that problem. Nasal congestion during the afternoon and then it runs in the evening. Just before bedtime I started taking a decongestant and that has probably started wearing off bu then. I'm going to start taking the decongestant in the morning and see if that helps.
@joyeous
I take Sinnutab AM
one drop each nostril of Flonase
Oh what a horrible time for a while. Bought a basic Nasal Cleaner and that wasn't the answer.
Then thought I don't have allergies but what if I treated the issue as if. Bingo done deal. Love it.
All the best to you.
