COPD and acid reflux , which has acid reflux with COPD

I see a lot in different place where is says acid reflux is common in COPD, What are you doing if it is part of your COPD? How bad does it effect you?

Acid reflux can be devastating. My first experience was shocking to me . I awoke from sleep with my mouth , nose , and throat, full of acids and liquid from my stomach. I ran for the bathroom . Spitting and blowing my nose , gargling and coughing to get it out of my throat. I was “cleaning up” for nearly an hour . It is acidic and nasty . All I could think is , I have to keep/ get this out / up and away from my airway . I now take Famotidine - I take 20 mgs morning and night . I also watch my diet , some spices and foods can get it stirred up . There are other drugs that can cause these problems too . Hope this gives you some idea .
