Cooling gloves and socks during chemo treatments?
Has anyone used the cooling gloves and socks during chemo for prostate cancer (docetaxel )? Do you think they help? How about sipping on cold water or sucking on ice chips to help avoid mouth soreness?
Compression socks during or after in case of edema?
Any tips to help get through the treatments are welcome!

You can get the cooling gloves and caps from Amazon. They do work, I know people that have used them. One flamenco guitarist was complaining in a meeting that after chemo, he couldn’t play guitar anymore, because his fingernails were destroyed by it. He didn’t know about the gloves.
I’m not sure if the cap comes with the second cooling pack that you can put inside the cap, If not, you may need two of them Because the cooling doesn’t last the whole time you are having chemo. I think someone mentioned that does come with that, but I have not verified it.
Some of the places that do chemo have a device they can put on your head that will keep it cool through the whole procedure, And save your hair from falling out. The only problem is it’s $300 per chemo procedure. It’s a Complex device that recycles cooling liquids through a machine next to you.

4 Reactions@jeffmarc the nurse at the cancer center here called us to set up appointments and she told us they have them there as part of their protocol.
One less thing to have to think about.
