Controlled release vs immediate release

I am having controlled release levedopa/cabidopa 3 tablets a day, but a neurologist has changed it to immediate release . I was diagnosed just 1 year ago and I am 56 years old with left hand tremor . I still have 4 months off medicine left . Should I change or continue ?

Hi, @faisal7447, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. It sounds as though you have some lingering questions about medication changes your neurologist made.

What did the neurologist say about why he or she was changing you from controlled release to immediate release carbidopa/levodopa? Did they mention how you should transition from one type of release to another?

He said controlled release is not reliable . Is that true ?
