Complications following Cataract surgery and EMR removal.

If it could go wrong, it did and in the most unexpected ways.
Cataract surgery left eye cancelled because of complications still ongoing two years after right eye was done.
1. IOL is 2.25 diopters nearsighted Presurgical vision 20/50. Post surgical vision 20/150
2. After cataract and ERM surgery I've had persistent CME that was well controlled by 2 drops durazol/day. Vision with corrective lenses is 20/40. Cannot successfully D/C steroids or CME returns.
3 One year later, I developed steroid responsive glaucoma
4. Was put on timolol, combigan and rhopressa
5. eye drops to control glaucoma not effective IOP went to 60
6. Tried steroid injections around eye. Pressure stable for 4+ weeks then shot up to 50. while on combigan and rhopressa
7. Given few options. Forced to D/C steroids to keep pressure down. Not candidate for laser surgery, not candidate for stent, possibly candidate for tubes, but the glaucoma meds only make my eyes irritated and don't help with the pressure. Not a candidate for cataract surgery for the other eye (they fear it will do the same thing)

HOW DO I KEEP FROM GOING BLIND??????

Doctors seem to be unable to help.

This is very disturbing to read, how horrible for you to go through this. I’m supposed to have cataract surgery on my left eye like two years ago and I’m still not ready to try it, can’t do laser due to previous surgery for retinas, I’m just too scared. I’ve survived two lung cancer surgeries but I’m terrified to lose my eye sight, I came close twice.

Sounds like what happened to me. Multiple eye surgeries, glaucoma, stent, then went totally blind in my right eye. I am not letting them touch my remaining eye.
