Comments about CBD and/or THC for neuropathy pain and paresthesia?

Posted by amkie @amkie, May 25 10:09am

Anyone tried CBD topically or THC gummies or anything on that order for the burning radiating pain of neuropathy? Also has anyone had a neurologist suggest this as a potential therapy? I will ask my own neurologist but wanted some broader input in the meantime. Success anyone? My family thinks this should be considered. I have tried various topical and oral prescribed medications with little success so far. Thanks for any comments.

Hi! I, like everyone on here, have tried supplements, Gabapentin and cymbalta. Nothing seemed to help though. Went to about 6 different doctors, had cortisone shots in spine and left knee. Years ago I even tried stem cell replacement and PRP shots. Nothing helped until one doctor prescribed Tramadol, which took the edge off the pain.
A few weeks ago, I had a long conversation with the owner of a CBD company. It is legal in my state and the doctor I’ve been seeing for about 6 months said to be sure that it’s tested and pure because like supplements, you never know what is in it.
Checked everything out, got my doctor’s blessing and it’s like a miracle. The pain disappears! I’m 85 and still driving so I don’t take any CBD unless I know I’m home for the day!
I’ve found very helpful information on this site and am now looking into a spinal cord stimulator and the Scrambler which I just saw on here Friday or Saturday.
Will let you know if either of those work. Thanks to everyone who contributes on this site!

I've had 2 back surgeries and neither seemed to help. I am on Gabapentin with no relief! I've seriously been considering CBD but am unsure of what to get. It isn't legal in my state but I am desperate for some relief!

Hi, maxi and Mary,
You could try getting in touch with Pure Shaka at https.pureshaka.com or 888-299-7525. I usually speak with Alex, the owner. I really researched about quality and purity and the passed everything. I believe they ship all over. Give it a try. Good luck!

Please don’t forget about LDN-Low Dose Naltrexone for neuropathy pain relief. It surprises me that members of this forum still don’t put LDN as their top priority for pain relief. Learn more here:

I am 62 and it’s annoying been living with it since 2002 after I had bacterial spinal meningitis I had severe nerve damage.
I am allergic to over 50 different medications and asthmatic. I am allergic to neurotin and lyrica. Being asthmatic I can’t smoke marijuana also Texas is a non medical marijuana state. 1% marijuana does nothing to you nor does it fix the symptoms. Neuropathy can cause seizures which I have. I have nerve pain in my ribs and breast. Sometimes I just want to scream. That does not help.
I bit myself the other day I was in so much nerve pain without any relief. Those that can take neurotin, lyrics and medical marijuana are lucky compared to those that can’t.
We are looking at moving to Colorado Springs when we come back from Germany. Currently, we are from Texas but stationed in Germany for the last five years. As far as I am concerned we can live in Colorado Springs or Oklahoma. Maybe, some other locations. My parents and sisters along with my adult children live in Texas.

It’s because I am allergic to it. That’s why I never include it. A lot of people have used alpha lipoic acid. I had an allergic reaction to it also. I don’t recommend medications I am allergic too. There are several people that have severe allergic reactions to medications.

I personally prefer deep tissue massage. Very painful but I bit my tongue and endure it.

I have used CBD topically for nerve pain that wakes me up in the heel of my feet. Topically this worked wonders. It relieved the pain so I could go back to sleep. I also take a Gummie to help me fall asleep. With the gummie and mellatonin I have been able to stop my nightime gabapentin.

Could I ask what type of CBD gummies everyone uses? What is the strength! This is my last resort & I'm really considering it! Tia
