Color vision loss with AMD
I was driving a few days ago when I noticed that colors were much sharper and more vivid when I closed my right eye. I have wet AMD in both eyes, and have been getting injections in my right eye for 9 months. My right eye is very dominant. Color vision seems to have reverted to normal now. Anyone ever experience something like this?

Think it’s a common thing. Many years ago, I heard a woman complaining about the colors and I have had trouble the last few months. I also have been getting shots for a year now and it sounds like I will have a few more months to go. Do you have cataracts? My Doctor told me that’s a sign of Cataracts. I think they plan on removing them here after the first of the year. They take them out when they are little as I was told. It’s easier on the patient and it’s easier for the doctors..
I hope that helps you. You are not alone.. Good
Thanks. I had cataract surgery on my right eye 2 months ago, the other eye last year. The color loss seems to come & go.
Good question, CapnHal! I have wet AMD in both eyes. Getting injections in right eye, and this eye also seed muted colors. If this is due to a small cataract forming, then I have hope to see brilliant colors again. It’s tough enough to need injections for the rest of my life. I don’t want to lose color forever too.
Injections are no fun, but it beats losing our eyesight. The color thing started after I had cataract surgery in my dominant eye. Seems to come & go.
I agree shots in your eyes hurt like everything. I went to the eye doctor here at the clinic a few months ago and she told me I should refrigerate my eye drops I use. And it did work it really helped for the soreness after the shots in the eye for a few days so things could get back to normal. Good luck
I don't feel much pain after the shot, but my vision is blurry and I have black air bubbles for a few hours afterward. I usually take a nap afterward and feel better. I'll remember your suggestion of cold eyedrops for next time, thanks.
From hearing your comments, I am blessed that I have no pain from my injection. I am now up to every 14 weeks. I do use eye drops every 30 to 60 minutes after the injection. I do know each person is different and how we respond to meds.
