Have you taken part in a clinical trial for breast cancer?

Hello,
Has anyone participated in a clinical trial with these chemo drugs:
Paclitaxel, Trastuzumab, Pertuzumab & Atezolizumab for ER+ & Her2+ breast cancer?

Hi Sheila,
I am just starting down this path of breast cancer and am fortunate that my metastatic breast cancer is slow moving, so I have the time to participate in a study. The one I am participating in is the ISPY study. This study is good in that its mission is to determine ways to treat cancer is more nuanced ways instead of the one-blast-fits-all ways that have been used in the past. This study gives me a more focused and appropriate treatment for MY cancer, PLUS much of the study-related treatment is funded by the study, keeping my costs down. To me it was an easy decision to participate in this study. It also gives me the hope that my participation will help others. The chance to think that I am helping others and not always be thinking about my own problems is also a relief!

You are my hero today! My husband and I both have been in studies, and some clinical trials. I agree that it does help to think about others. It feels like purpose.
@mssewest I have you on my list of heroes as well. Please stay in touch, I think of you all the time. What kind of chemo are you taking now? Is this an induction therapy in preparation for the trial?

I am having Taxotere Perjeta & Herceptin every 3 weeks. The first infusion on Feb 4th wiped me out. No energy & very fatigued. Feeling better now but will have my second infusion this Friday. I’m going to fight like I have never fought before. I won’t do the trial drug until after my 6 infusions if the THP.
Thank you for thinking about me. Will keep you both in my prayers also.

Hello all,
II have advanced stage 3 HER2 breast cancer, 2/21 I go into my 6 out of 6 chemo.
THP I don’t know why but I have felt energetic, no nausea, no symptoms except strong metal taste in my mouth for 10 days.
Keep punching through get a routine and go to bed early.
I have been blessed - with no pain and no fatigue through this cycle.
I don’t have scans until March to see how the 7 hours of chemo are working. I have a double mastectomy 3/22 .
Keep your family and friends close during this time.
Thoughts with all - we didn’t ask for this journey but thank you all for sharing.

Hi @ boathouse

How are you doing with the THP treatments? Do you find that you have tremors, butterflies or muscle spasms from the THP treatment? I’m experiencing this all day long throughout my body and it is interfering with my sleep. I just had my 2nd on on 2/25 and I’m just starting to feel a little better.
