CKD STAGE 4

Posted by santiago84 @santiago84, Oct 23 1:59pm

Hello everyone I am 41 years old and I wants to come on here a tell a bit of my story on how I found out I had kidney disease at such joung age . I had went to a follow up appointment and I was actually feeling pretty sick and tired and not feeling good about my self and I got blood work done and urine example as well . And this happened of the year of 2024 when I was told I had stage 3 of CKD and I was so devastated and also was my family members. I will always blame my primary doctor for not being responsible and letting me know about it at earlier stage .I could have saved my kidney from getting worse then what it is now . I personally think they should be held accountable for this thats going on with us who find out late when they are the professionals ones being our doctors. Now unfortunately I’m at stage 4 of CKD and is really frustrating to me I always fatigue, sick, nauseous, dizzy , throwing up not motivated for anything most of the times sadly. something I never had to go trough in my life I was a really healthy girl till this was smacked in my face by a new doctor I had got when i had move to a new area . And ever since then I been trying my best to be positive but there is days I wish I wasn’t around anymore 😔my life did a whole 360 in a matter of months . But God is good and he will always be there for his children and give us strength and comfort I hope everyone is blessed and please aske your doctors about anything remember SOME DONT CARE ABOUT US . Have a blessed day hugs🫂🤍🙏

@santiago84 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! Many of us were surprised when we found out we were stage 3 of chronic kidney disease. As you read through the discussions here in the kidney support groups, you will find that many of us have been where you are at. It is a pretty much accepted fact that most doctors will not think too much about somebody being in stage 3 of kidney disease, and feel it is not time to be treated. And many of us will will also agree that that's not the correct approach to take! The reasons we develop kidney disease are many. It could be the result of side effects of medication, or a family genetic disease called polycystic kidney disease, or diabetes or high blood pressure that is not treated by our doctors. Have you found out what has caused your kidney disease? A big part of handling your situation right now is working at the underlying cause. And you'll see that most of us will agree that diet plays a big part in how we handle our situation. Closely monitoring sodium, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and processed foods will go a long way to help us along and help us feel better. Moderate exercise minimal stress will also help.
