Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia: New symptom of burning sensation

Posted by marynoelle @marynoelle, Dec 31, 2023

I was recently diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia. No treatments required at this time. Hematologist will monitor. I had absolutely no symptoms and it was picked up on routine bloodwork. I am now having a burning sensation in upper back and arms. Also pain in legs. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and would know what could be causing it.

I am sorry to hear that you are getting sicker Marynoelle. I hope your bloodwork this week will help clarify what is happening. My doctor mentioned possible peripheral neuropathy from cryoglobulinemia that showed up on my last tests. I will keep you updated as soon as I learn more. Would you please mind do the same? It is all a learning curve!

@virb I started having bone pain in arms and legs two days ago. Is anyone else experiencing this? Wondering if it’s a symptom of CLL?

Hi Marynoelle, I am sorry to hear about your new bone pains. I saw my onco-hemathologist yesterday to discus the results of last week new tests. She is still unsure about the pins and needles/burning sensations as well as the bone knee pains. She is redoing a cryoglobulin test in order to,figure out a treatment with rituximab or send me to a rheumatologist…. So we still don’t know!

@virb The burning sensation I was having went away for a couple of weeks but came back again in the past week plus pains in legs and arms. I see my Health Care Provider next Thursday, March 8, to discuss results of my last bloodwork. They told me it wasn’t urgent so I’m assuming bloodwork is good. I just need to get the burning sensation under control again and try to figure out what’s causing the bone pain. Good luck with your
cryoglobulin test and treatments. Hope you’re feeling better soon!
