Chronic low back pain
Hi, I am wondering if anyone has had similar problems to mine. I’m 30yrs old and have chronic low back pain since the end of 2019. The pain is constant into my lower back and radiates into my right goin area and right side abdominal sometimes. I had a MRI done of the lumbar spine in feb 2020 it shows DDD and a mild intervertebral disc protrusion at L4/5. The pain is unbearable most of the time. I can’t bend down, I can’t exercise, I can’t sit long as I’m in pain roughly 80% of the time. I use to constantly exercise a lot and now I can’t even do a squat. I’ve been to my GP numerous times he said he thinks it’s mechanical. I’ve a small uterine fibroid at the back of my uterus but he said it’s small it couldn’t be causing problems. I’ve also had Had ultrasound done of my liver, kidneys, gallbladder and internal ultrasound done also. I’ve been to physio which is not helping and chiropractor which doesn’t help either (my chiro thinks it’s due to my mild protrusion and lack of core stability) I’m scared Incase it’s something more sinister and it has been missed or that fibroid could be something else.

I had similar symptoms as in groin and down my leg pain. Intolerable. It ended up I had a three inch cyst in my lower mid spine pressing on nerves. They drained it and it helped but it took time. And my lower extremities continued to just go numb and partially paralyzed for a long time after. I also had bulging discs and spondylosis, but with time and physical therapy and losing weight it helped. 12 years later DDD and spondylosis is in a very bad stage but I am back in aqua and land therapy and doing chair yoga and it is making me stronger, little by little. Just listen to your doctors and if you feel you're spinning your wheels get a second opinion. I am also on Gabapentin and a muscle relaxant and could not function without them. I am sorry you are having these issues I hope you find some answers and relief.
I have pain only on the left side of my back with numbness going down the leg to the foot. Sometimes I feel paralyzed but the leg is moveable. It's so restrictive. My pain specialist has tried 10 procedures, even the spinal stimulator, with no luck. My spine doctor wants to do three spinal fusions which every other doctor that I talked to said to not do that. It will only make you worse with at least a 6 month recovery. I went to a neurosurgeon at the same hospital who did a laminectomy on L4 but never did L3 which shows narrowing down the spinal canal. He was also suppose to do a disectomy on 3 discs and didn't do what he told me. I filed a complaint against him for not doing what was told to me. When I asked why he didn't do this, his answer was to stay on Norco for the rest of my life or go to another doctor.! I saw my pain specialist after and he gave me a neurosurgeon in a different hospital. I googled him and he is the professor of neurosugery at this hospital. I got an appointment but not until August. I'm not giving up and living with this pain forever and taking Norco. Wish me luck. I will wait until August. I tried aqua therapy which felt good but didn't do the trick.
