Chronic headache and Sinus problems

Posted by johnhenson30 @johnhenson30, Feb 11 4:10pm

Has anyone dealt with non stop rhinitis (non-stop mucus stuck in Throat) coupled with facial and eye pain.? since Nov 2023 i have had chronic mucus in throat accompanied with right sided facial and eye pain. After 2 years of failed nasal sprays, meds, deviated septum surgery (septoplasty) in 11/25 and cryotherapy Clarifix procedure in Dec 25, Concluded that tje condition were never sinus related. All MRI, CT scans were negative. ChatGPT led me to SPG (Sangopalitone ganglion). Nerve block that triggers the mucus and facial pain. I relate it to a concussion from 2021 which began the headaches off and on. In 2023, a sever case of flu and covid had me congested with headaches to present. I found a pain doctor who has done 2 SPG nerve blocks and had positive response and only relief ever felt. I am seeking Mayo referral but will continue these nerve blocks. Advice—- research SPG Nerve Blocks. Hope this helps. It has been BRUTAL

Have you seen an endodontist or dentist about this issue? I'm dealing w an abscessed tooth, upper R back molar that never really hurt (a little sensitive) which is causing sinus issues.

I’ve read that an old root canal can lead to all kinds of sinus related problems and that when the root canal is removed, everything clears up. Just thought I’d share that for whatever it’s worth.

Pain is happens at different locations of the head and face[Right side, full head and left side face if serve sometimes] mainly on the right side of the head around forehead and eye

Pain does shift location while is happening, its origin seems like sometime the from full head or right side forehead, then followed on eye and cheek.
Pain feels like knife stabbing on the right side forehead when originate then needles pain, or something obstructing in nerves behind right eye and cheeks with serve pain.
Its sometimes difficult to explain the pain.
he is being diagnosed with chronic migraine and TN etc.hemicrania continua ruled out but no treatment worked so far
no medication, gaama knife, botox , never blocks like super-orbital/ infra orbital injections. He tried Gabapentin and few others too, no relief.
