Chronic Cough: what might be the cause?
I’ve had a chronic cough for over 2 months. Drs say it’s allergies but nothing is helping. It’s worse at night. I have a little nasal drip but mostly starts as a tickle in the throat and ends up coughing until I feel like I break ribs, I pee and tears run. I’m not sleeping lately either.

I have had bad dry coughs all my life, very loud and exhausting at times.
A few months ago I found Cough Shield at Amazon. I love this thing, stops the coughing right away every time. I’m so happy about this.
Could be another medication you are taking regularly. I know my chronic cough is due to my blood pressure med and I just accept it and go on with my life.
@phxbarb If your blood pressure medication is causing your cough, there are many other blood pressure medications that won't have this annoying side effect. My doctor had no problem prescribing a different category of well established blood pressure medication when I had the cough reaction also. It's worth it.

1 Reaction@binw Thanks but I have taken this medicine (Vasotec) for at least 40 years and it has controlled my hi BP all this time. I have no plans to change it.
@phxbarb I understand.
