Chronic Anxiety

Causing depressive issues. Greatly increased over the past 5 or so years. Prior to increased stress, was prescribed clonazepam for 20 years. Helped me very much. I worked. Mirroring so many others in this day and age, this miracle drug is hard to have prescribed. Have tried probably every antidepressant, antianxiety, off-label, on-label etc. I have difficulty tolerating side effects. My doc is afraid of the law. Who is the threatening agency to get a doctor fired? I would think after trying every med know to psychiatry with failure, a benzodiazepine would be indicated. I read, but don't have access to professional journals. Is it an established fact benzos cause dementia/memory loss? Or is it too stringent a DEA? Is the term doctor-shopping? Horrible for so many of us who benefited. Just have to follow doctors' orders. Thank you.
