Chlamydia trachomatis, problems after treatment

Posted by dominos123 @dominos123, Jul 4, 2023

After chlamydia my life is not the same. I cured it with azitromicin and tested again 3 times and always was negative but vaginal discharge and all symptoms are still here as: pelvic pain, ovary pain on the left side. This is lasting for one year and more… I’ve also done all other test for STI’s and they were negative (ghonorea, HPV, micoplasma and ureaplasma…) and also BV bacterial and Candida weren’t isolated.
Please, let me know is anybody facing the same problem. I’m hopeless. I’m scared that I will not be able to live with this anymore.

Have you asked to see another physician? This whole situation sounds very suspicious to me. I would hope that someone would want to get to the bottom of these symptoms.

It seems to me that your current symptoms could possibly be related to the past infection or to the treatment. It also seems possible that it could be something else. I found this link with an overview of some things that may be related to the ovaries, since you mentioned pain specifically.

I actually have a relative who had one of the things listed in the link , dermoid cyst, so I'd heard of that one. Some of the others were news to me.

I hope you can get an appointment with someone who can help you figure this out.

Hi again,
I changed 6 or 7 doctors and every one of them tought the same: Candida or BV. And they would give me meds that aren’t working.
I’ve done ultrasound three times and everything was ok.

I haven’t had sex since I was chlamydia positive so I will exclude new infections or reinfections.

last time on my papa smear they diagnosed changes connected to HPV (even if I tested negative for HPV three weeks before that papa smear) and CIN I. I went to colposcopy and the other dr. said that cervix is ok and that I have a ectopy size of one penny which was caused by chlamydia.

I also thought there are cists but my gynaecologist told me he would see it for sure on ultrasound and that they are not there.

Have you found any relief yet? I did find relief for myself it just took a long time, about 6 bad months after treatment then a year before everything resolved. I did a lot to support myself and sometimes I think what resolved every symptom was getting pregnant. But I was mostly back to normal before getting pregnant. I am willing to talk to you I know how isolating it is and how maddening and painful.
