Child physical abuse & epilepsy
It seems I read or heard that young children who experience routine physical abuse can lead to more eratic misfiring of electricity in the brain, potentially being a source of a seizure. I was physically abused (not sexual) by my father starting at the age of approximately 5 years old that continued for about 6 years. My seizures came out of nowhere. Has anyone heard of child abuse being related to seizures? If this were true, could this fall under the TBI category?

Hi, @royanthony - I'm immensely sorry to hear that you experienced physical abuse as a child.
If I started experiencing seizures out of nowhere, I'd wonder about the origin, too.
The Epilepsy Foundation talks about traumatic events connected to attacks that look like seizures:

Were you thinking of cases of child physical abuse connected to seizures such as psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES)? Have you been diagnosed with PNES?
