Chemo tablet or splenomegaly to reduce spleen enlargement?
I have a very enlarged spleen from myelofibrosis. Diagnosed in early 2011, I have taken no medication, only specific supplements. Until recently, my Consultant said I was doing well. Now, however, while the blood counts and platelets seemed to have kept stable the spleen has got bigger and bigger. I have no natural solution to this so have been given the alternative of taking a chemo tablet or having my spleen out.
Does anyone have a valued opinion on this as far as long term effects are concerned?

Good question, @stimme. Allow me to tag fellow members who have experience with an enlarged spleen like @grecarmar @suezq @shaker1956 @scsimpson @rllarocca @dustedeagle @bordercolliecra and @stevehurlburt.

It's good to hear that your blood counts and platelets have stabilized. Which chemo is being recommended?
Hello, Colleen, thank you. I don't yet know which chemo tablet. I am to be offered the choice on Thursday

Sorry but I can't help you with the myelofibrosis because I have splenic marginal zone lymphoma. I am now in remission. I had my spleen removed in July of 2017. I have had no problems so far. I have not changed how I live. I do have a problem with fatigue but I also have several auto immune diseases so that doesn't help. I want to wish you good luck with this problem. I you have any other questions there are always people here that can help.
