Changing personal picture on the patient portal

Does anybody know how to change your personal photo on the patient portal?

I have asked registration, front desk, & admissions @ Mayo JAX.

I'm not techy...so I'm guessing...on your home page if you right-click on the image, the menu that shows up should offer you that option.

Other than that...my best advice would be to grab the closest teen. They'll know💞.

Welcome @shendrzak, I don't believe there is an option to add a photo on the patient portal. I've seen my photo when looking at my information while at Mayo Clinic and it appears in my patient account but I can't remember when the photo was taken but I'm sure it was at one of my Mayo appointments. I just now logged into my patient portal and could not find a reference/link to add a photo. The patient portal is not connected to the EPIC system used by the doctors and nurses as far as I know.

If you are talking about your profile photo here on Connect, it's fairly easy to change or add your profile photo. You can find the how to information for using Connect in the Help Center (link at the top right of the page). Here's the direct link: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/help-center/.

Here's how to change your profile picture.

1. Go to your Profile.
-- Click your profile picture in the top right and select Profile & Settings.
2. Click EDIT to add or edit your:
-- Name (optional)
-- Bio (Tell us about you. Max 500 characters.)
-- Profile photo (Use JPG, JPEG, JPE, PNG or GIF format. Less than 5MB in size.)
3. Click SAVE PROFILE.
4. Click “I’m Done Editing.”

Hi @shendrzak, like @johnbishop, I wonder if by "patient portal" you mean your profile on this website - Mayo Clinic Connect.

- Mayo Clinic Patient Online Services (https://onlineservices.mayoclinic.org/content/staticpatient/showpage/patientonline) is the patient portal where you can see medical records, contact your doctor, see reports and test results, as well as schedule appointments.
- Mayo Clinic Connect (https://connect.mayoclinic.org/) is an online patent community where you can share your experiences and find support from people like you.

If I just confused you, please send me a message using this form https://connect.mayoclinic.org/contact-a-community-moderator/

I can help.

Hello @shendrzak, From my experience we can’t make changes to the photo on our patient portal. I look nothing like my original photo anymore, so it was retaken at the registration desk where I have my followup appointments. Next time you’re in for an appointment just mention it to the coordinator at the desk.
I see you’ve been a long time member since 2016 and this is your first time writing in! That’s fantastic. I hope to see you frequently! May I ask what originally brought you to Connect?

Thanks John, I'm going to try to add a photo to my Mayo page.

I think to have our photo replaced, we have to personally go to the Olmsted Medical Center.

I have sent a note to portal online services asking them to clarify the process for updating picture. Few years ago when checking in at a kiosk it asked if I wanted to upgrade picture; but have not seen that option lately. Odd that noone you asked at JAK knew answer.

Will update this discussion once get answer from online services.

This is response I got from Mayo Portal support team about updating picture:

"Your patient photo ID is an important part of the electronic medical record and promotes patient safety. Your photo in your Mayo Clinic electronic medical record can be updated at a Mayo Clinic location using a patient kiosk. If you have further questions, please ask your care team."
