I had it so bad, I hardly could walk anymore. I used a pelvic belt for a while, but that did not give lasting relief. I finally went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and after lots of testing it was decided that I need spinal surgery. I had this surgery over 10 years ago, and have not had any sciatic nerve pain since.
All this previous run around with pain pills and what ever, did not fix my pain, but caused slight kidney damage. I wish I would have had the surgery earlier, it would have spared me many years of agonizing pain.
It was called spinal decompression surgery, and it sure did wonders!

I hear so many stories about the good and bad of surgery. Some people have wonderful results while others rue the day they ever let someone cut into their body. Wish I had never allowed a fast-talking orthopedic surgeon talk me into having spinal fusion of my L5-S1. Did absolutely no good at all. They called it "failed back surgery". How convenient!

I feel sorry for you. This is one of the reasons why I travel from southern Florida to the Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota with any complicated issue. I simply want to have the best providers working on me.

I am also interested in the use and benefits of Clebrex, I was prescribed, but haven't taken yet due to the list of side effects.

Has anyone out there taken Celebrex for back pain for several weeks, months, and noticed a weight gain? I'm trying to figure out why I'm gaining weight even though I'm staying within my calories with Noom.

Thanks!

I've taken it for years. I take a low dose 100 mg.
I also take as needed - not every day!
No weight gain -- however dehydration and edema I notice. Like in the morning, I am a bit '"puffy" when I take it the day before.

I have had it severely in my right hip/buttocks/upper thigh area, but went on prescription medication gabapentin, twice a day!
It took care of it 100%,

HOWEVER, a few nights ago I was in a deep sleep on my right side and woke up in the morning with pain in my hip area.

Now the pain has come back and I have it when I walk and even more so standing still!

Sitting there is no pain whatsoever!

I’m still taking the gabapentin, twice a day, and I’m going to give it until this time next week.

If it hasn’t gone away I will contact my doctor!🥵

Dec 11th I was tboned, had 5 broken ribs, hospitalized for 2 days , released got home, and I bent over to pick up a sock, and felt and heard a pop. I was rushed to the hospital where I endured a chest tube placement. A broken rib had punctured my lung. I was admitted and treated for 11 days. They gave me Gabapentin and did not send me home with a script for taper down and wean off . Released on Dec 29, on Feb 1, I got a migraine headache that lasted 3 days( I never get migraines) now on 2/3/26, I began to have muscle weakness and shaking in my body. I resemble a Parkinson’s patient. Does anyone know if this because I was cold turkey forced to quit Gabapentin??
