"The bottom line. No evidence suggests that carbonated or sparkling water is bad for you. It's not that harmful to dental health, and it seems to have no effect on bone health. Interestingly, a carbonated drink may even enhance digestion by improving swallowing ability and reducing constipation." — Is Carbonated Water Bad for You? – Healthline: https://www.healthline.com/health/food-nutrition/is-carbonated-water-bad-for-you

When I had an adjustable gastric band, it was a NO NO. With a bypass, I drink a few sips
Stay away from soda
Carbonation also distends the belly. Stay away from high fructose corn syrup too.
Do not drink it, especially with bariatric surgery, Microscopic colitis, GERD, etc.
With GERD and IBS, I have eliminated carbonated drinks for over ten years.
I agree with what others are saying. If you have digestive tract problems, please check with your doctor before using any type of carbonated beverages on a daily basis.
I'm wondering, are you inquiring about this because you are experiencing problems?
